Poetic Life

Ever since I was really young I have always had a soft spot for writing. I would write plays, short stories are comic strips when I was bored or to entertain people. When I was in the fourth grade there was another hidden talent that I soon discovered. It was poetry. Since that first poem I wrote in the fourth grade, I haven’t really stopped writing since. To me, poetry is something that can never be wrong because it is something that you feel or that you have gone through. Other people may be able to relate, but no one can tell you that your very own poem is wrong.

I usually write poetry when I am feeling a little bit sad, angry, or maybe even happy. When there are a lot of feelings going through me at once, instead of yelling them out for the world to hear, I will grab a pen and a pad and write down everything I am feeling. Believe it or not, once I have done that, usually all the tension I was feeling seems like it has left my body and is now on that pad of paper.



I love poetry because every poem has a hidden meaning usually. The person who wrote the poem always knows exactly what they meant when they wrote it, but sometimes it might take the reader a minute or two to realize what the poem is about. Sometimes at first, my poems might seem like a bunch of words thrown together, but once you really get the meaning you realize that it is much deeper than that. Other times it is very easy to understand what I am talking about in the poem, definitely I you have been through the same experiences.

I usually always find time to write, either before or after school. It doesn’t always come to easily though. I have to find something that inspires me to write. If it is not something that I am experiencing personally, than I usually let others inspire me to write about something.

My poetry is, to me, usually very organized and rhymes. They are usually not that long either because I feel like the shortest poems are usually the ones with the most meanings (Although long ones have meaning to)

I do not have many hobbies but am very proud to say that poetry is biggest forte. Never been very sporty to play sports, or artistic to draw or paint, but writing is something that takes me to the next level and beyond. When you have something that you are passionate about, you usually will stick with it forever. I hope to do so.

One of my favorite poems was by Tupac Shakur, entitled "The rose that Grew from Concrete.............

"Did you hear about the rose that grew from a crack in the concrete?
Proving nature's law is wrong it learned to walk with out having feet.
Funny it seems, but by keeping it's dreams, it learned to breathe fresh air.
Long live the rose that grew from concrete when no one else ever cared."

This poem would seem like it is actually about a rose that grew from concrete when in actuality is about how a young man (or anyone) is able to come up out o a bad neighborhood or situation and make something of themselves. I believe his meaning was that anyone who was walking down the street and saw a rose growing from concrete would stop and be amazed by it. But when he came up out of the ghetto (just like the rose came out of the concrete) all anybody could do was look at his flaws instead of admire the fact that he made it out of somewhere where a lot of people don’t make it out of.

I really admire poems like this and many more because they inspire me to write. Sometimes hen I am bored, I will think about something that has happened to me or that I want to happen and I'll write about it. Sometimes it comes really easily other times not so much. But at the end of the day it fells good to know that I am the one that wrote it, and it is my very own. I can also look back on some of them sometimes when I am feeling a certain way and they make me feel better. Poetry is something that uplifts my soul and heart and I know that it is something I will continue to do and share forever more.

Revision paln

My essay overall was said to be pretty decent. The most feedback that I got was that I need to watch my spelling and grammar. I think that I probably rushed through the first essay and didn’t really recheck on how many mis spelled words I got or if what I was saying really made any sense at all. So now that I have the time I am definitely planning on revising it so that it is an A+ paper.
Some things that I found wrong were that at some points it seemed like I was just babbling on to make the essay 700 words. I think I need to have a little more structure then the blog post that I originally posted. I think that by doing this I maybe need to rearrange some of the sentences and paragraphs so it fits a little better. Also I think that I should maybe remove some things that maybe didn’t fit that well in the overall essay.
Also I was told that I need to add pictures. I t was a little hard trying to find a picture to go with this blog entry which is one of the reasons I put a poem that I enjoyed. I think maybe I'll use my extra time to find a picture that goes really well with what I have written. Maybe I will try using a photo of myself, or famous poets that I have read and enjoyed.
Something else that I could maybe do is add a little more detail of how I first got started writing and what I did to stick with it. Maybe my intro will be a little better if I added detail of why I decided to write and why I have stuck with it. Also the ending could be a little better if I decided to put what I do to keep me motivated enough to write today. My body would be a little better if I just added overall detail to some of the thing s that I said
So overall, I believe that I have a plan that will possibly make my essay really good and entertaining. I just need to take the time to revise it myself, and maybe have a few people around me look at it as well. After that I think I'll be good to go.

What I really want to Become

Since a very young age I have always considered doing many things when I got older as a career. At one point I wanted to be a doctor, a nurse, and a clothes designer. The only thing that I stuck with since I was in elementary school was to be a teacher. I really wanted to major in education to become a teacher because I love kids and I would love to teach them new ways to learn about the things that are pivotal for them to know in life.
No one in my family, that I know of, has ever majored or minored in education, so I would be one of the first ones in my family to do it which is really neat. One of the main reasons why I always wanted to be a teacher is because I feel like it’s something that is helping out the community in appositive way and I believe that America needs more great teachers, definitely in some of the areas in The United States where the school systems aren’t very good. Even though in a lot of places like that, some of the kids do not want to learn, there are always that select few that do want to learn and go to school, and I want to be there to help them. I think that my family is very proud of me for the decision that I have made to become a teacher because I could have turned out like a lot of the people I graduated with and be doing nothing right now.
Another big reason why I think I have chosen to become an educator is because one of my favorite people growing up was my third grade teacher Mrs. Avery. She inspired me so much, probably more that anyone ever has. She taught me to be patient and work things out in my own sweet time. She was also an overall great educator and person. I have not seen Mrs. Avery in many, many years but her influence still has a big effect on who I am today as a person. She is also the one who inspired me to want to teach the third grade in particular. If it wasn’t for Mrs. Avery and her impact on me as a child, I probably wouldn’t have wanted to become an educator.
Another big reason for wanting to attend school for education is because I have a lot of traits that I believe would make me good at it. I am very patient, definitely when it come s to young people. I am able to hear a child out when they need to be heard, even when they whine and are a little antsy. I think that patience is the key to many things, but becoming a teacher, requires having patience because of the situations that you might be in. I also have the ability to take control and be a leader. Although I am somewhat of a shy person, when it is needed I know how to step up and voice my opinion. I think that doing that is important because, when someone is doing something that they are not supposed to be doing, you cant just sit there and be afraid to say something, no matter what age group they are. I have thick skin and a backbone which I think will bring me along way in the education world. Another thing that I do that I believe is a plus is I am very creative. When learning sometimes it is hard to concentrate or understand something when your just sitting there listening. Since I was younger I have always been creative and also I learned fun entertaining ways to learn and remember things from my old teachers in elementary, middle, and high school. So I believe that I can give kids a fun way to remember things that they wont forget in their life.
All in all I do think that me being an educator was my choice and something that I cant wait to start. I am very thankful to the people who inspired me on the way, like my third grade teacher Mrs. Avery and my family. When all is said and done, I know that I am doing something that not only is helping the community but it is also something that I really want to be doing.

That Is down right ANNOYING!!

Although I do not get bothered very easily by little things, there are certain things that do bother me a lot that people do. Usually the things that bother me are small things that are probably not that big of a deal to the average person, or maybe event things that most people wouldn’t even notice. People that are very close to me know that I get aggravated fairly easy due to miniscule things like people running their feet on carpet or people who yell when they whisper. Although those are things that bother me, there are a few things that bother me way more.
One of the things that have bothered me since I was very young is when people talk with spit in their mouth. I think it is gross to hear somebody pronounce things with a lot of spit in their mouth. When you can see the spit it is even more disgusting. My uncle talks with spit in his mouth and I think it is the most disgusting thing in the world to hear him talk at any given time. The thing that bothers me about it is that I can’t concentrate on what the person is saying, all I can think about is the fact that there is spit in the person’s mouth and they need to either swallow it or spit it out. It drives me insane when people talk with spit in their mouth but there are things that bother me a lot more.
Another thing that is a pet peeve of mine is when someone calls me, and I don’t hear the phone ringing or miss the call, so I call the person right back and they don’t pick up the phone. This is something that happens to me ALL the time and I absolutely hate it with a passion. Obviously the person who called is there, definitely when I call back less than a minute later. This really gets on my nerves because I know the person is there and I don’t know why they won’t answer the phone. It bothers me so much that I will keep calling, and calling the person until they finally and then I will most likely yell at them about why they didn’t answer the phone when I called right back. Although this seems like something that shouldn’t be that big of a deal, I t really bothers me more than anything.
Another thing that is a pet peeve of mine is snoring. I know that someone cannot help when they snore, but I find it to be the most annoying thing, definitely when I am trying to sleep. I grew up listening to snoring because my mom and my brothers snore when they sleep, and very loudly I might add. The thing that makes snoring so annoying is the fact that I know that they cannot help it and they are sleeping peacefully while I have to stay up and listen to them snore like a bear. I have always hated this, but learned to live with because I didn’t have a choice but to hear it every night because of my mom and brothers.
The last thing that I think has always bothered me is when people eat with their mouth open or smack on food. This probably has to be my biggest pet peeve. I think that it is a disgusting habit and it annoys me to the highest heaven. It annoys me even more when I see an older person or adult hat is smacking on food. Although when kids do it it’s annoying to, for some reason it bothers me more to hear or see an older person doing. The sound grosses me out and the sight of chewed up food in someone’s mouth is certainly not a pleasant site at all. Along with the chewing and smacking , I also don’t like when people talk with food in their mouths. No one should be that impatient that they can’t wait to swallow their food before talking. I think it is a nasty habit that should be addressed at a young age.
These things annoy me and aggravate me, and make my skin crawl. Although I know that some of the things, like snoring can’t be helped, some of them can be helped and need to be because I’m sure I’m not the only one that is disgusted by smacking or spit in someone’s mouth.

My Hometown Indianapolis Indiana (Crossroads of America)

Indianapolis Indiana is definitley a woderful place to visit anytime of the year. No matter where you go in Indianapolis you will always find something that will make you stop and stare. from the attractions to the people, Indianapolis is a very unique place to live and visit. There are certain things that are must see's when visiting this beautiul city, and below are a few of the places I think everyone visiting Indianapolis for the time should see.

1) Indianapolis Motor Speedway
One thing that Indianapolis is probably best know for is our huge racetrack. Our Motor Speedway is probably holds some of the most famous races in the country or maybe even the world. We are known for the Indy 500 which we hold every year. The Indy 500 attracts people from all over the world. If there is one place you have to stop and visit just to experience Indianapolis, it's definitley the Indianapolis motor speedway.

2) The Lucas Oil Stadium
The Lucus Oil Stadium, which was onyl built a coulple of years ago, is probably one of our newest attractions. It Is supposed to be a great place for conventions and exhibitins. The Lucus oil Stadium is seven levels and cover 1.8 million feet!! It also has 137 corporate suites, two club lounges, meeting rooms, and two exhibit halls. The Lucus oil Stadium is best know for being the home of the Indianapolis colts. If you would like to expericne the thrill of your life, The Lucus Oil Stadium should be your first stop

3.) The Indianapolis Children's Museum
THe INdianapolis Childrens Museum is said to be one of the biggest children's museums in the World. It has 3 stories and exciting exhibits on every floor. The Children's museum is not only a place where kids can go to have fun, its also a place where families can go to learn new things about history, the human body, Science, and many other things. Its a place where you learn in a fun way. The Indianapolis Children's museum is definitley a must see when visiting Indinapolis Indiana.

4) The Indianapolis ZOO
tHE Indianapolis Zoo Is one site that people of all ages will enjoy. It is huge. Indianapolis zoo is one of the first zoo's in the world to have a huge dolphin viewing tak where you can watch dolphins and humans swim. The Indianapolis Zoo is cery clean and the staff is always really friendly and helpful. Stopping in Indianapolis would not be completer without visiting the Indianpolis Zoo.

5.)The Indianapolis Central Canal
The Indianapolis Canal is probably one of the most well know attrattractions In Indianapolis. The canal is One and a half miles long and is leads to some other main attractions in Indianapolis. you can go on boat rides on the water of the canal and the canal is also a good place for bikers and people who like to walk or exercise. the canal is right next to the white river park, the indiana state museum and The Indianapolis Zoo. It is a very beautiful place in the day, but even more spectacular at night with all the lightings. This is a must see attraction when visiting Indianapolis.

The White River State park Indianapolis is America's only urban cultural state parks. It has many things to do. It is a great source o nature, entertainment, and education. This should probably be one o the first stop all visitors should make. The park is pretty big and has alot of area. Its a great place to have picnics or feild trips. The White River State park is an attractin for the ages and a must see!!



All in all Indianapolis a beautiful pace to visit and I would reccomend all these great sites to people planning to visit this remarkable town. I promise My home town will leave you breathless. theres no place in the world quite like Indianapolis!!!
